Everything You Need To Know About Dermal Fillers 150 150 Helen Taylor Aesthetics

If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you’ll know how much I love my work and that I am consistently looking to expand my skillset. Having undertaken cosmetic couture training, I am fully trained in providing 3D lip fillers. I am also now offering non-surgical nose jobs using dermal fillers.

In the spirit of transparency, I would love to let you know more about dermal fillers so that you know exactly what any treatment involving these would entail. In this post, I will talk all about the different ways that dermal fillers can be used to treat signs of ageing and restore confidence.

What exactly are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are a cosmetic treatment that is used to plump up the area in question for a rejuvenated, more striking appearance. They are commonly used to fight the signs of ageing on the lips, cheek and nose as well as the tear trough area.

Fillers work so well thanks to the high levels of Hyaluronic Acid, a naturally occurring skin component that is injected into the desired area and retains up to a thousand times its weight in water.

This immense ability to retain moisture impacts positively on the appearance to fill out, soften and smooth the skin. It also works to increase elasticity by encouraging collagen production.

Aesthetic technicians across the world use dermal fillers to treat the signs of ageing in both men and women. This is an extremely sophisticated treatment that requires the utmost precision and skill. Fillers can be used on all parts of the face including the lips, cheeks and nose for a fresher, more youthful appearance.

Treatments are entirely safe and minimally invasive with immediate results.

Lip Service

Many of my clients find that their lips are one of the most first areas that show signs of ageing. They are one of the first areas to suffer as a result of England’s cold, dry and windy climate. Other factors such as dehydration, licking of the lips and cold sores also speed up the ageing process.

Lips that appear bumpy, rough and wrinkled can be treated with dermal fillers.

Fillers work on each area of the lips to restore definition and add volume. They can be injected into the white roll along the vermillion border to shape and contour. I also use fillers to lift and lengthen the corners of a mouth that typically has a downward curvature.

I also used dermal fillers on the naso labial folds. Otherwise known as the premolar area, this is the space between the nose and the mouth where many patients encounter deep wrinkles as they grow older. This is usually caused by smoking or repetitive action such as drinking from mug or straw or even pouting.

Smoking is also one of the main causes of perioral lines – wrinkles and loss of definition or volume around the mouth. Fillers are also effective at treating wrinkles and lines in this area.

A Nose For a Good Thing

It may surprise you to learn that dermal fillers can also be used on the nose for correctional treatment. Fillers play a key role for those who would like to fix a bumpy nose but prefer to go down the non-surgical rhinoplasty route. I use fillers to even out lumps and bumps for a smoother appearance and stronger profile.

Cheek to Cheek

Sunken cheeks can ruin even the brightest smile and many of my clients come to me for help in this area. Being unable to smile without worry of how you might look seriously impacts on confidence.

It’s entirely normal to experience this problem, with genetics and the natural ageing process both contributing to volume loss in the cheek area. I use dermal fillers to contour the cheeks and restore lost volume for a plumper appearance.

Tears Cry No More

One of the other areas that I commonly use fillers is the tear trough. This is the area below the eye and above the upper cheek where tears would naturally fall. I use fillers to lift and sculpt the area, alleviating dark circles and enhancing volume and smoothness.
