Everything You Need To Know About Correcting Permanent Cosmetics
One of the reasons I love my job is that I can make every single one of my clients feel good. The beauty of permanent makeup is that it doesn’t just strengthen our overall appearance and make us all look as beautiful as we can be, but it makes us feel good too.
It’s a fantastic feeling when I receive feedback from my clients who tell me that they finally feel comfortable in themselves and proud of their appearance following my treatments. They are always super confident to show off their new look and I am delighted that I could be the one to help.
When things go wrong
Unfortunately, there are those technicians who are not quite so diligent. I have had many clients come to me for help in fixing a shoddy beauty job.
Some have had their eyebrows tattooed without the shape being drawn on first; others may have been told outright what colour they were having as opposed to being given a range of options and sound advice to help guide them through the process. One lady had even had her eyebrows tattooed in the wrong position on her face.
All of these people had entrusted their technicians to do the job and they had failed them. Many felt too embarrassed to go back and have it done again or didn’t want to risk offending the technician.
There is also the fear that the technician will not listen to what the client is really looking for and end up making the problem even worse.
Care and attention
Just like any other profession, make-up artists should be fully qualified and trained. In my job, I also believe that a friendly, approachable and flexible attitude is fundamental.
If clients are not involved in a thorough, step-by-step consultation, it is hardly surprising that they are often unhappy with the results. With every client, I am taking on a huge responsibility and I take this very seriously.
I treat each of my clients with respect and patience and listen to every individual case to ensure that I offer the best treatment. I will always advise my clients to take a look at my qualifications and certificates; I am proud of my experience and knowledge and believe that it is important for my clients to have confidence that they are working with someone who is highly skilled.
Technicians should always have examples of their previous work on their website; it is also vital that they have had experience working with different brow colours and skin types, as beauty is not a one-size-fits-all field.
I offer all clients an initial (complimentary) consultation to work out the best course of treatment, as well as analyse individual features such as face shape, skin tone and eye colour to ensure the best eyebrow shape and pigment.
I have used permanent cosmetics to help people regain confidence after an illness, to correct stubborn beauty issues and simply to make my clients look and feel even more beautiful.
Using a variety of techniques, my eyebrow treatments will correct shape and colour and restore definition. Some clients may require a simple treatment like corrective colouring if they are unhappy with a lighter pigment. Others may be seeking an eyebrow shape; some may only need the tail of the brow removed while others may require us to start from scratch.
I offer a number of options including hairstroke brows for an understated look or powdered brows (which can be soft or defined). My combination brows offer a mixture of the two for a really dramatic finish. I have also worked with clients who have lost their hair through alopecia or chemotherapy, helping to restore their natural beauty and boost self-confidence.
I aim to make all my clients feel beautiful and I will do my utmost to produce the best and most effective results.
When it comes to eyeliner makeup, if you want the thick eyeliner look it’s best to build it up over a period of time. It does cause an element of trauma to the eye therefore it needs to be introduced gradually.
