ENHANCE YOUR LOOKS

Semi-permanent make-up at the House of Evexia Clinic in Rugby allows you to have perfect eyes, lips and brows for up to three years. Also known as cosmetic tattooing.

BOOK A CONSULTATION

This Treatment is perfect for anyone who:

✓ Doesn’t have the time or inclination to refresh their make-up
✓ Loves to look good as soon as they wake up
✓ Regularly swims, goes to the gym or does sports
✓ Is allergic to or sensitive to traditional make-up
✓ Has a visual impairment or dexterity issue which prevents them applying their own make-up.

Our highly trained specialists can create perfect eyebrows, eye liner and lips by carefully tattooing colour pigments into the dermal layer of the skin. As the pigment fades as the skin exfoliates, we recommend a colour boost at around 18 months. Helping to maintain freshness, this treatment will ensure you get the most out of the initial procedure, with our handy maintenance guide featuring plenty of hints and tips to help you prolong permanent cosmetics.

We will, of course, explain more at your consultation but, in the meantime, please read on to find out more about how permanent make-up can transform your looks and your confidence.

Is Semi-Permanent Make-Up Right For You?

If you are interested in subtly defining your eyebrows, eyes or lips using semi-permanent cosmetics, your first step is to book in for a free consultation at House of Evexia Clinic in Rugby.  If you like, we can do this as part of your initial treatment – or if you’ve yet to make up your mind – your consultation can be booked in advance.

Feel free to bring some photos to this initial appointment, if you have an idea in mind regarding how you’d like your finished brows, eyes or lips to look. From there, Helen  and the team will work out what you’re hoping to achieve, analysing your facial shape and features to determine the most complimentary look for you.

During your consultation, we will ask you some questions about your medical history and will require you to complete and sign a medical and consent form.  You will also need to do a simple patch test at least 24 hours prior to your treatment to determine whether you have any sensitivities to the pigment.

Permanent make-up results can be unsuccessful on some skin types, so if you have very oily skin or large open pores we’ll need to discuss this during your consultation.  Some clients with alopecia or those undergoing chemotherapy may also experience uneven healing and poor colour retention – but this is something we can discuss during your consultation.

If you are pregnant or nursing, you will not be eligible for permanent cosmetics treatments.

Once you decide to go ahead with the appointment, we will decide on pigment colour, considering your skin tone, as well as your hair and eye colour. Mixing a pigment blend to complement your colouring and preferences, we’ll draw your brows on with a make-up pencil. You can then take a look at the shape of your brows before we start to add the pigment.

We will never begin the process without confirming you’re completely happy with what the end result is going to look like.

Semi -Permanent Eyeliner

Adding depth and definition to the eye area, our semi-permanent eyeliner treatment is ideal for anyone who feels like their eyes look bare and unremarkable without make-up. It’s also perfect if you experience watery eyes in the cold, wind or light, have a visual impairment or allergies to traditional make-up, or you’d simply like to enhance sparse eyelashes or eyes and look your best all day.

Using a fine blade to deliver pigment into the skin, permanent eyeliner offers smudge-proof eye make-up which can look natural or dramatic. You can also opt to have your upper or lower eye line defined, depending on the look you desire.

Throughout your treatment we will try to make you as relaxed as possible. Of course, we realise that your eyelid may twitch when you are having your eyeliner tattoo added, but please do not worry about that. We can give you breaks whenever you need them.

Semi-Permanent Lips

As we age, our lips sadly suffer as they lose shape and pigment and become lined, making it much harder to apply make-up.

Permanent cosmetics can give your lips more definition, enhancing the beauty of a well-shaped pout, or reshaping an old and tired one.

When correctly applied, permanent lip colour or lipstick tattoo, can correct asymmetry, add definition and volume, and give the appearance of a fuller, yet natural-looking pout.

With a profound anti-ageing effect, permanent lip cosmetics can bring the ‘smile’ back to your mouth.

Before your treatment, our team will perform a detailed analysis of your lips. Carefully drawing on your lip line, we won’t begin the procedure until it looks perfect and you’re completely satisfied with the proposed shape and colour.

The treatments available include:

Lip Liner – An ultra-fine liner for a subtle outline, semi-permanent lip liner can be applied soft or bold – the choice is yours.

Lip Blush – Offering a soft hint of colour for a natural, gloss-effect finish, the end result of our lip blush is a beautifully subtle lip colour.

Full Lip Treatment – Involving an all-over tint with a soft, translucent colour, the full lip treatment offers a fresh and subtle look. It may take three sessions to achieve the desired effect.

Please note: Clients who are prone to cold sores should use a topical treatment for a few days beforehand to avoid an outbreak so please talk to your semi-permanent make up artist about this during your consultation.

Microblading & Eyebrow Tattooing

Microblading, also known as eyebrow tattooing or semi-permanent eyebrows, is one of our most popular treatments to redefine the brows. Offering a subtle, natural-look, tattooed brows can frame your face beautifully.

Formulated to match your original eyebrow colour, the pigments we use will always blend perfectly into your existing hair.  Your eyebrow hair does not need to be removed for this procedure, as we work with your natural hair to achieve the desired look.

All eyebrow treatments include a free ‘retouch’ appointment, which takes place around four to six weeks following your first session. This is not always a necessity but may be required if the colour does not heal easily. If a further top-up is required, a small charge will be incurred.

Initially, the brows will appear darker, fading significantly over a two-week period. Lasting anywhere from one to three years, a touch-up is recommended around once a year to retain the shape and saturation of the pigment.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Some pigment will remain in the skin permanently but will gradually fade over time. It varies from client to client but generally lasts approximately three years. Eyebrows tend to fade faster than eyes and lips.

The colour will start to fade as the skin exfoliates, and we recommend a colour boost at around 18 months to maintain freshness. Please read our maintenance advice to make sure you do everything you can to prolong your cosmetics.

Please also note that medical conditions and medicines can cause pigment to fade faster.

Typically, the effects last for three to four months, after which, another treatment is usually required.

Tattoo pigments have been used for thousands of years and reactions are very rare, plus the pigments we use are of the highest grade and are hypo-allergenic. Our semi-permanent cosmetic make-up treatments conform to the British and European Health and Safety standards. We are highly trained in this procedure and use state-of-the-art micro-pigmentation equipment including a new single use disposable sterile needle for your complete safety.

Please allow 1-2 hours for your appointment. Some services may take longer to perform, but we can discuss that when you book.

When we’ve established how your cosmetic makeup is going to look, and you’re 100% happy to go ahead, we’ll be ready to start. Before the permanent makeup treatment begins, we will apply some topical anaesthetic on your skin to minimise any discomfort. We can add more topical anaesthetic during the procedure, if necessary, to ensure your comfort at all times.

We use a specialist facial tattooing machine which works at a much lower frequency than a standard tattoo machine but produces excellent results. The pigment will be applied to your skin using very fine needs. The sensation is like that of an electric toothbrush being held against your skin – you will feel the vibrations but you shouldn’t feel pain.

Following your procedure, the colour that has been applied will be approximately 50% darker for up to a week later. The area may also become dry and flaky around three to seven days after your appointment, and you may experience some swelling and redness, which can last up to two days.

After your first application, you may find the colour hasn’t healed evenly; this is dependent on your skin and its personal healing process and can be balanced during your retouch appointment.

Around four to six weeks after your initial treatment, a second appointment is required. Usually lasting up to 60 minutes, it allows us to add more pigment to areas that require a top up, to ensure perfect results.

Why do we do this? As the area is healing, some areas may not ‘hold’ quite as well as others; you may find a few patches need more colour, which is completely normal. Whatever the outcome of your first treatment, we always advise you to come back to the clinic for a retouch.

The retouch appointment is free but you may also desire additional top-up treatments at other times.  These will have a small cost.

We strongly advise against tattooing an area more than three times within one year.
